United Parcel (UPS) Q4 Earnings In-line, Sales Grow

United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) is a leading provider of transportation, logistics, and financial services across the globe. The Atlanta based company offers a range of supply chain solutions.

The package delivery company does not have a healthy track record with respect to earnings. The company has outperformed the Zacks Consensus Estimate just once in the last four quarters. The trailing four-quarter average earnings miss is 2.35%.

Zacks Rank: Currently, United Parcel has a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell) but that could change following the company’s earnings report which was just released. We have highlighted some of the key stats from this just-revealed announcement below:

Earnings: United Parcel reported earnings of $1.25 per share, in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate and the year-ago figure.

Revenue: Revenues grew 6.1% year-over-year to $15.9 billion edging past the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $15.8 billion. Growth was witnessed across all the three divisions of the company.

Key Stats: The company expects to perform well in 2015 as well driven by growth across all its segments. The company expects 2015 adjusted earnings in the band of $5.05 to $5.30, reflecting a 6% to 12% growth over the comparable figure of 2014. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2015 currently stands at $5.14 per share, well within the company’s guidance range.

Stock Price: Shares were up 0.29% in pre-market trading at the time of writing.
