The Week Ahead: Focus On The US Consumer As Trump’s Presidency Nears

The second week of 2017 features US retail sales and consumer confidence, central to the economy and the Fed’s decisions. Also note PPI, China’s trade balance, and other events. We are also nearing Trump’s inauguration on January 20th, and speculation will likely mount about his policies. Markets will want to see more fiscal stimulus and fewer trade wars.
