Is the shooting in Paris already helping the experienced center-right candidate? Or is it too early to tell? A fresh poll from Opinionway shows Fillon with 21%, up 1% from yesterday. Melenchon from extreme left slips from 19% to 18%. There is no change at the top: centrist Emmanuel Macron leads with 23% and Le Pen is at 22%.
With so many undecideds, as many as 30%, any one of these four candidates can seize one of the two places in the second round.
In the second round, Macron loses one point against Le Pen but continues commanding a robust lead of 64% from 65% against 36%. Fillon improves his stand in the second round with 59% against 41% for Le Pen.

There are only two days to go towards the French elections and tensions are rising, especially after the Paris shooting.
An attacker shot dead one policeman and injured two others in one of the most famous streets in the world, the Champs Elysees.
Yesterday’s daily Opinionway poll showed Macron at 23%, Le Pen at 22%, Fillon at 20% and Melenchon with 19%. This reflected no change to Wednesday’s poll. However, the support of Fillon in the second round against Le Pen slid to 57% from 58% against 43% for the extreme-right candidate.
