Economic Events Of The Coming Week – Sunday, Jan. 9

Monday: November Industrial Production data will see light in Germany, as will November Trade Balance data. December’s Halifax House Price data will see light in the U.K., as will November Unemployment rate for the Eurozone.

Tuesday: December Consumer Price Index data will see light in China and Russia. December’s Producer Price Index data is also expected to see light in China, where analysts expect the annual gain to rise, hitting 4.6%. In Canada, December Housing Starts data will see light, as will the final estimate for November’s Wholesale Inventories.

Wednesday: November Industrial Production data will see light in the U.K., as well as Nov Trade Balance data. In the U.S., the weekly MBA Mortgage Applications will see light. Donald Trump is scheduled to hold a press conference in New York.

Thursday: November Balance of Payments data will see light in Japan, where the current account surplus is expected to moderate to JPY 1.48 bln. November Industrial Production data will see light in Italy, as well as for the Eurozone. In the U.S., the weekly Initial Jobless Claims will see light.

Friday: December M2 and M3 Money Stock data will see light in Japan. In the U.S., December’s Producer Price Index data will see light, as well as December’s Retail Sales data. The preliminary estimate of January’s University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index will also see light in the U.S., as well as the monthly budget statement. Chair Yellen is due to host a town hall meeting. The Bank of America and JP Morgan will release the fourth quarter’s earnings.
