The average score for mid cap stocks in our universe 68.36, which is above the four week average score of 64.27. The average mid cap stock in our coverage is trading -15.1% below its 52 week high, 4.01% above its 200 dma, has 7.12 days to cover short, and is expected to grow EPS by 14.6% next year.

Industrial goods is the top scoring mid cap sector. Financials and technology also score above average. Services score in line. Consumer, utilities, basics, and healthcare score poorly. 

The best mid cap industry is industrial electrical (RBC, BDC, LFUS). Trucking (KNX, ODFL, HTLD), regional banks (SIVB, FHN, OZRK, FFIN, CATY, ASB), movies (RGC, CNK), and auto dealers (CPRT, GPI) are also top scoring.

The best basic materials baskets are steel & iron (STLD, CMC, CLF, MT), synthetics (MTX, CMP), and oil & gas equipment & services (HLX, RES). In consumer, focus on auto parts (DORM, CLC). Regional banks, investment brokers (SF, GHL, MKTX), and surety & title insurers (AGO) are best in financials. The top healthcare industry is medical appliances (MSA, MASI, ALGN). Industrial electrical, aerospace/defense (TDY, HXL, CW, ESL), and diversified machinery (NDSN, ITT, MIDD) offer upside in industrials. Concentrate on trucking, movies, and auto dealers in services. The highest scoring industries in technology are semi equipment (TER), printed circuit boards (FLEX, JBL), and broad-line semi (CAVM, IDTI).
