The average score in our large cap universe is 69.77. Over the past four weeks, the average large cap score is 66.57. Average large cap scores are approaching levels consistent with being overbought (see chart later in this report).

The average large cap stock is trading -9.59% below its 52 week high, 5.93% above its 200 dma, has 4.73 days to cover short, and is expected to grow EPS by 12.58% in the coming year.

Industrial goods, technology, and financials are the top scoring large cap sectors. Services score in line. Basic materials, healthcare, and utilities score below average.

The following are the best and worst scoring large cap stocks this week.

The best large cap industry is restaurants (DRI, YUM, QSR, MCD). Semi ICs (SWKS, TSM, AVGO), healthcare plans (UNH, HUM, CI, ANTM, AET), lodging (WYN , MAR, H), and major chemicals (FMC, EMN, SHW, DOW, ASH, APD) are also top scoring this week.

In basics, concentrate on major chemicals and ag chemicals (DD, CF, AGU, MOS). The best consumer goods industries are cigarettes (MO, RAI, PM), processed & packaged goods (CPB, CAG), and auto parts (LEA, BWA, MGA). Insurance brokers (AJG, MMC), money center banks (PNC, JPM, BNS, BK), and P&C insurers (ALL, ACGL, XL) are top scoring in financials. Healthcare plans and medical instruments (SYK , BCR, COO, BSX, BAX) are best in healthcare. The strongest baskets in industrials are aerospace/defense (RTN, NOC, BA, HON), diversified machinery (ITW, IR, FLS), and farm & construction machinery (AGCO, CAT, DE). Restaurants, lodging, and railroads (CSX, UNP, NSC, KSU) are strongest in services. Across technology, focus on semi ICs, semi equipment & materials (AMAT , KLAC, ASX), and diversified computer systems (LVLT).
